AgriNomix LLC, a leader in the horticultural industry as an integrator of horticultural automation, is hiring for the position of Electrical Controls Engineer. This fast-paced position will require exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multi-task throughout the day.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience(Preferred)
  • Electrical Engineering: 3 years (Preferred)
  • PLC or HMI software: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Electrical Installation: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Automated Machinery: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong ability to multitask and work as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
     

Job Summary:

The Electrical Controls Engineer will be responsible for specifying electrical control schemes, PLC and HMI Programming, commissioning, installing, and troubleshooting of both new and existing automated systems.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the creation of efficient, market leading controls for our products
  • Design, develop, and service all aspects of electrical control systems on in-house built automated equipment
  • Installation, programming, and technical support of PLC and HMI based hardware and software controlled machines and automated systems
  • Plan and keep up with preventive maintenance and upgrades on machines
  • Work with our technical and service teams to detect problems and offer solutions through phone and on site support to our customers
  • Maintain quality and safety standards
  • Travel to other locations to perform installation, commissioning, and maintenance repair service on machines built and / or sold by AgriNomix
  • Identify opportunities to increase production and efficiency by following market trends and new technological adaptions
     

What Will Make You Special (Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Hands-On experience working with automated machinery
  • Previous PLC and HMI software experience
  • Very computer proficient, knowledgeable with both hardware and networking
  • Up to date with the latest controls and computer networking schemes
  • Up to date with current controls related hardware components and technology in general
     

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Working mainly in our indoor manufacturing facility
  • Some travel to customer sites throughout North America– environments can vary
  • Subjected to weather conditions and changing temperatures when traveling
  • Frequent walking, sitting, standing, use of hands, and talking
